As the food delivery industry continues to thrive in Latin America, we turn our attention to the performance of the top five food delivery services on the iOS platform during the first quarter of 2021. The data provided by Sensor Tower offers a glimpse into the download figures and active user counts that these apps experienced.

Starting with iFood: pedir delivery em casa, which originated from Brazil, we observed an initial download count of around 122K in the last week of December 2020, with a dip to approximately 76K by mid-January. However, a significant spike occurred in the first week of March, reaching close to 95K downloads. Weekly active users showed a stable trend hovering around 2.6M.

Rappi: Market and Food Online, hailing from Colombia, also experienced a stable trend in downloads, starting at around 67K and peaking at approximately 90K in late March. The app's weekly active users started at 1.65M and saw a notable increase, reaching nearly 1.88M by the end of March.

Uber Eats: Food Delivery, a service by Uber Technologies, Inc. from the US, maintained its download numbers in the range of 60K to 61K throughout the quarter, with a slight increase by the end of March. The app's weekly active users fluctuated slightly but saw an overall upward trend, starting at around 2.31M and increasing to just over 2.34M in mid-March before settling at around 2.25M.

The downloads for PedidosYa - Delivery App, a service from France, were initially around 28K at the end of December, with fluctuations throughout the quarter. A significant rise was observed in March, with downloads jumping to over 74K. Weekly active users showed a consistent increase from approximately 578K to 673K by the end of March.

Lastly, Cornershop by Uber: Groceries, also from the US, had fewer downloads compared to the other services, starting at around 11K and peaking at just over 17K in late March. The app's weekly active users saw a gradual increase from around 43K to nearly 49K over the quarter.
